Obama and the 2nd Amendment

Obama: 2nd Amendment Responsible For High Homicide Rates!
Another Lie

Speaking recently in South Carolina, President Barack Obama, a supposed constitutional scholar, remarked that Supreme Court Justices created individual rights for citizens to keep and bear arms in District of Columbia v. Heller (2008). I would remind the President the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution, not the Supreme Court, establishes a citizen’s right to keep and bear arms. The Court’s Justices merely acknowledged the intent of the Founders and those states adopting the Constitution. Further, it must be accentuated that it was to insure maintenance of the Free State from tyranny and oppression of government for which citizen militias could provide their own weaponry to protect themselves and their property from governmental overreach.

Attributing perceptions of increasing gun violence due to our 2nd amendment rights, President Obama further remarked that homicide rates in the United States of America are much higher than other industrialized nations. A 2013 Breitbart News report cited a Harvard Journal of Law study whereby Russia possessed a murder rate of 20.52 per 100,000. In 1993, the USA murder rate was 6.6 per 100,000. When the number of firearms increased in the USA from 192 million in 1993 to 310 million in 2009, the 2011 Rate in the USA fell to 3.2 per 100,000. So what say ye now Mr. President?

It should also be noted that if the USA could rid itself of the gun-control population centers such as Detroit, New Orleans, St. Louis, Los Angeles, Baltimore, Oakland, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Memphis, Atlanta, and Chicago, our murder rate per 100,000 would fall to less than 0.5. As a side note, the above mentioned population centers are, and have been under democrat control for some time. Liberal lies purporting to dispel truths about Constitutional rights of United States citizens must be aggressively repelled. “Oh say can you see………”?
